The Battle Against Pollution: How we’re making a difference to local communities

Transition St Andrews using BinIT heavy duty bin bags.

Here at BinIT we’re always exploring ways to increase our commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly living. We’re excited to share how, through our recent donations to litter picking communities, we’ve been making a positive impact on the environment, one sturdy bag at a time.

Going the Extra Mile for Sustainability

At BinIt, we believe in going the extra mile – literally! We’ve taken significant steps to contribute to a cleaner planet by donating our extra-strong bags to litter pickers across the country. All in a bid to help combat the devastating effects of pollution on our planet.

Supporting Local Communities

With local government cuts on the rise, communities across the country are coming together for litter picking sessions in their local. We want to be a part of this movement by supporting these communities as much as we can. Last year alone, over 430,000 volunteers, ranging from school children to businesses, collected a staggering 449,406 bags of rubbish nationwide.

Making a Difference, One Bag at a Time

Many of these groups are self-funded and often have to compromise on quality over quantity when it comes to buying their bags. That’s where BinIt comes in- so far, we have donated over 100 rolls of bags, that’s over 12,000 litres of rubbish collected!

One group that benefitted from a BinIt heavy duty bag donation was Transition St Andrews, a group of students, staff and local residents in St Andrews, Scotland, committed to
tackling climate change by promoting reuse, recycling, growing and distributing food and
sustainable travel options. They have been conducting regular litter picks on the beaches in
their area and received a delivery of bags from BinIt in the hope they could collect more
awkward items that would cause standard bags to rip and split. The donation of BinIt heavy-duty bags, enabled them to collect 74kg of rubbish in just one afternoon. This success story is a testament to the invaluable role these groups play in preserving our environments.

By teaming up with Plastic Bank, a group fighting plastic pollution in our oceans, we want to help more beach-loving environmental activists keep their shores clean. If you’re part of such a group, reach out to us! We’re offering free, eco-friendly bags to support your fantastic work.
